The Man Behind the Story

Amir Sadeghi was born and raised in Iran. An early fascination with computers became a quiet window onto the world outside. Long before he knew what leaving would cost, he knew he wanted a different future.

That search took him first to London. He lived there, worked there, and learned what it feels like to build a life in a city that does not yet know your name.

The same road brought him to America — and to months he never forgot.

When he was finally free, he had almost nothing, in a country he barely knew. He started his life over in San Francisco.

In the years that followed, he made his own way in the world of technology, founded the company Invoiss, and became an American citizen. But these are not the story. The story is the price he paid for them, and what freedom taught him.

In 2026 he lost his father. In the quiet that followed, he set out on a journey across America, to think about life, freedom, grief, and standing up again.

My Journey to a Second Life is the story of everything that came before that journey — and of what it means to begin again.
